Your Comfort & Convenience
Technology helps our team make your dental experience as positive as possible while providing you with the oral healthcare you need and deserve.
From same-day dental restorations, and laser treatments to 3D imaging and handheld X-ray technology, our office is equipped with a range of technologies that can help minimize fuss and allow you to be more fully engaged in your dental treatment.
If you have any questions about our technology or products, contact our Vernon dentists today. We would love to speak with you!
Aevo System™
At Pleasant Valley Dental, we use the Aevo System to help reduce the overall duration of orthodontic treatment, aiming to provide you with faster results. Aevo is designed to accompany and accelerate orthodontic treatment by using low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) to stimulate the alveolar bone and promote faster tooth movement.
The Aevo system can be used in combination with traditional braces or treatment with Invisalign clear aligners.
Fotona LightWalker®
The Fotona LightWalker AT is designed to target and treat damaged or decayed tissue with pinpoint accuracy while keeping healthy tissue intact.
The LightWalker allows us to perform soft- and hard-tissue procedures with a minimally invasive technique to help promote fast healing and healthy outcomes.
We use the LightWalker to treat gum disease, assist us with implant procedures, and perform PIPS root canal therapy.
Lasers For Dental Hygiene
If you suffer from gum disease, our Vernon dentists may use dental laser therapy to target and treat inflamed gum tissue and help eliminate the bacteria that can damage your gums, teeth, and jaw bones.
In many cases, lasers have shown a decrease in post-op discomfort following scaling and root planing. The use of dental lasers can also help reduce bleeding, swelling, and gum discoloration following the procedure.
Digital Impressions & 3D Imaging
By using digital impression scanners at Pleasant Valley Dental, we can eliminate the need for messy and time-consuming traditional dental impressions. No more sitting in a chair with unpleasant goop in your mouth!
Digital impressions create accurate 3D digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth. They also offer a shorter turnaround time between impression and restoration than traditional impressions.
Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays can be taken in a matter of seconds, right from the dental chair!
They use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film to produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums and other oral structures and conditions.
Digital X-rays allow your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
VELscope® Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer can affect any part of the mouth or surrounding tissues, and although oral cancer is more likely in older adults, it can affect people of all ages.
Our screen patients for cancerous and precancerous signs during routine dental examinations, using the VELscope to detect hidden abnormalities that may not be visible during a physical exam.
CEREC® Milling Machine
Traditionally, getting a major dental restoration like a crown could be a long process. It would include messy manual impressions and the placement of a temporary crown while your impressions were sent to an off-site lab for fabrication.
Thankfully, with the help of our CEREC same-day milling machine, we can take digital impressions to have your new crown, veneer, or inlay designed, fabricated, and placed typically in a single visit. Now that’s something to smile about!
Nobel Biocare Implants
Nobel Biocare has developed dental implants that are not made of metal but ceramic and are formed of just two parts.
Your well-being is key for us. That’s why our dentists use Nobel Biocare to offer you a permanent solution to missing teeth. These dental implants are carefully engineered and tested to help provide you with safe and long-lasting dental solutions – a practice that translates into a new quality of life for many.
NOMAD™ Handheld X-ray
Handheld X-ray devices allow us to be flexible with your dental care.
With a portable X-ray device, we can capture digital images right from the dental chair from any angle, making it possible to take X-rays while you're reclined or sitting upright.
If you suffer from dental anxiety, you may also find the small NOMAD Handheld X-ray device less intimidating than a traditional X-ray machine.
Oral Health Products
CariFree®
CariFree is a line of professional-grade oral health products, including toothpaste and rinses, that help facilitate optimal oral health and bring the mouth into a healthier pH balance.
The Humble® Co
The Humble Co. makes the vegan, cruelty-free toothbrushes we give our clients from 100% biodegradable, sustainably-grown bamboo and quality bristles from DuPont®. Additionally, every Humble purchase funds efforts to benefit children in need.
Intraoral Cameras
At Pleasant Valley Dental, we believe that intraoral cameras have revolutionized the dental industry.
Intraoral cameras now allow us to get an up-close-and-personal look at the surfaces of your mouth, allowing for massive magnification so we can get a better look. The images can be viewed right alongside the treatment chair so you can gain a better understanding of your oral health and treatment needs.
These detailed, magnified images allow us to detect and treat disease and decay at the earliest stages to help preserve your oral health.
X-Guide Navigation
Our team at Pleasant Valley Dental uses the X-Guide's surgical system paired with Cone Beam 3D imaging to help us provide you with the most accurate dental implant surgery possible.
With X-Guide Navigated surgery, our doctors utilize live, 3D views of anatomy during your procedure to place the implant exactly where it should be.
Our dentists feel that their control and precision throughout the implant process are elevated with the use of X-Guide technology.
